Virtual Opioid Dependency Program (VODP)

Alberta Netcare eReferral (eReferral)
- Through eReferral, referring providers can create eConsults (previously called Advice Requests), which are non-urgent requests for advice answered by a specialist within five calendar days .

Opioid Agonist Therapy (OAT) Gap Coverage Program
- As part of the Coverage and benefits offered by the Government of Alberta, the OAT Gap Coverage Program provides Albertans without health benefit plans an immediate, no-cost access to opioid agonist medications (i.e., buprenorphine-naloxone, methadone liquid or injectable extended-release buprenorphine) for up to 120 days.
- To be eligible for the Alberta OAT Gap Coverage Program at no cost to the individual, patients must:
- not have other supplementary health benefits,
- be registered with the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan and have a valid Personal Health Number (PHN); pseudo PHNs are not eligible under this program, and
- have a valid prescription for buprenorphine/naloxone or methadone.
