For many of us, the fall season has become synonymous with heading back to school. Whether class is back in session for you or not, this is the perfect reminder to start planning to partake in some of the continuing education and professional development opportunities available this fall and beyond.
Below are a couple of my fall favourites for your consideration:
Practical Evidence for Informed Practice (PEIP) Conference, PEER
October 18-19, 2024 | Edmonton, AB
(In person and virtual)
The PEIP Conference is a unique platform designed by primary care professionals, ensuring the content is relevant, immediately applicable, and specifically geared towards your practice. Enjoy entertaining and informative presentations that are free of industry influence.
This one-credit-per-hour Group Learning program has been certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Alberta Chapter for up to 9.25 credits.
Family Medicine Forum (FMF), CFPC
November 6-9, 2024 | Vancouver, BC
(In person and virtual)
Immerse yourself in a world of knowledge as renowned speakers share their insights on primary care, patient-centred approaches, and emerging trends in family medicine. FMF also offers many special events, celebrations of achievements in family medicine, an extensive Exhibit Hall, and several social opportunities to recharge and network with peers and colleagues.
If you are in your first five years of practice, don’t forget to register for the FFYFP Social Event on Thursday, November 7, 2024 7:00-10:00 p.m. at Mahony’s Tavern. I’ll be there as a first-time attendee and hope to see many of you there too!
This Group Learning program has been certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and Quebec Chapter for up to 59 Mainpro+ credits.
And for those of you already looking ahead to 2025, I would strongly suggest saving the date for the ACFP’s 70th annual Family Medicine Summit. Program details and registration typically launch late fall, and you won’t want to miss out on this event’s platinum anniversary year!
Family Medicine Summit (Summit), ACFP
March 7-9, 2025 | Banff, AB
(In person and virtual)
Hosted by the Alberta College of Family Physicians (ACFP), the Summit is recognized as Alberta’s premier conference for family physicians. The conference offers continuing professional development and an opportunity for family physicians to network with colleagues to share best practices in primary care. Education for Family Docs by Family Docs.
There is always so much to learn in family medicine, so make sure you take the opportunity to get back to school, doctor style!
