More timely care is the intent of the amended Referral Consultation standard of practice, which took effect on January 1, 2017 after approval by the Council of the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) last fall.
The CPSA has also just released a new Advice to the Profession document to support physicians in implementing the standard.
