As part of the ongoing development of the Patient’s Medical Home (PMH), the CFPC released its Best Advice Guide on adopting electronic medical records (EMRs) in a patient’s medical home (PMH).
As mentioned in the best advice guide, EMRs have many potential benefits when used in a primary practice, including: better collaboration, improved continuity of care, and the ability to track data over time.
The guide discusses which factors to consider when adopting an EMR system, including: financial and time costs, resource requirements, practice needs, and ensuring any technology utilised still provides a patient-centred experience.
Other Best Advice documents can be found under our PMH library of resources or at CFPC’s PMH Website.
