March 4-6, 2022
www.familymedicinesummit.ca

For a second time, the ACFP’s annual Family Medicine Summit (Summit) will be fully virtual! While we were hoping very much to deliver a hybrid conference, we just couldn’t risk it. That said, the ACFP and the Summit’s Scientific Planning committee are fully committed to providing an exceptional conference experience yet again with more learning and networking options!

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

The Summit conference program is jam-packed full of relevant, practice-enhancing content including:

  • Equitable care
  • Harm reduction
  • Diabetes
  • Transgender care
  • Hypertension
  • Autism
  • Menopause
  • Foot and ankle injuries and management
  • Myofascial pain syndrome, and much more!

MAXIMIZING YOUR LEARNING EXPERIENCES—LIVE AND ASYNCHRONOUSLY!

Another year, another first for the Summit – preconference on-demand learning! For the very first time, the Summit will launch its event platform before its live conference dates to offer you several on-demand learning opportunities including:

  • Exclusive access to the film, Kímmapiiyipitssini: The Meaning of Empathy
  • On-demand certified content
  • On-demand wellness sessions

ASYNCHRONOUS CONTENT IS AVAILABLE STARTING FEBRUARY 22 TO MARCH 3

    1. Hi there,

We most certainly do! Please save March 3-5, 2023, in your calendar for the 68th annual Family Medicine Summit!

  1. Hi,
Will Family Medicine Summit will be in person in 2023?
If yes, do you have exhibitor section?

    1. Hi Saima,
We do plan to hold the 68th Family Medicine Summit live, but as a not-for-profit conference, exhibitors will be limited to other not-for-profit organizations.
Thank you for your inquiry. Please feel free to reach out with further questions anytime!
      Kelsey

  2. Can a physician buy transcripts/videos/other CPD/educational materials for this summit or the summit held in Banff, AB in June?

    1. Greetings Dr. Paul,

The 2022 Family Medicine Summit 90 days of post-event streaming has expired, but the materials should eventually be made available in the CFPC library for members! The upcoming Family Medicine Summit in March of 2023 will be held live and also virtually should you wish to attend either delivery mode.

My name is Smitha Yaltho and I feel privileged to work as a family physician. Why? I believe that being a family physician has been the best job any physician can hope to have. I have personally grown in my own abilities and skill-sets with diverse opportunities in ambulatory practice, acute care and work in Facility Living.  Working in primary care has been exciting and has also afforded me tremendous opportunities for growth while still remaining stimulating in its complexity.  I believe that Family physicians are trusted partners in patient care –  every step of the way.

Why are you volunteering to serve on this committee?
I currently have an interest in Physician Leadership and  trauma informed care.  I have served as a director with the Board of Directors with the Edmonton North PCN, Edmonton’s largest PCN. Thereafter, I have worked as the Director of Medical Services with CapitalCare (also based in Edmonton) for almost 6 years. It is my express wish that my contribution on the ACFP board of directors will highlight the excellence of family medicine that exists right here and now within the Alberta health care system.

What about the ACFP’s work do you find most valuable?
Ability to highlight and further support the excellence of primary care right here in Alberta.
