Dear ACFP Members,
April ushers in a new season in ACFP programming. Whether it be new CPD initiatives like the launch of ACFP Road Shows or returning favourites like the Family Docs Rock! campaign for World Family Doctor Day (WFDD), all our efforts are grounded in valuing our members and shaped by the evolving needs of our community.
Member Needs Assessment
This time of year also affords us the opportunity to explore where we can continue to improve and serve our members better. As the ACFP and its Board embark on a new strategic planning cycle, I once again ask you to share your thoughts with us, this time in the form of this year’s Member Engagement Needs Assessment.
Your feedback is essential to our organization and the work we do. It helps ensure we remain responsive, resonant, and resilient. Please tell us what is working, where we need to bolster our efforts, and how we can better support you now and in the years to come. This survey will remain open until May 20, 2026.
World Family Doctor Day – May 19th
As part of this year’s World Family Doctor Day celebrations, we wanted to do something special to recognize, acknowledge, and honour our members. The ACFP Pin of Honour was designed to do just that. It is an emblem which symbolizes not only your commitment to the specialty of family medicine, but also the bond you share with your fellow members—to connect you to something bigger.
Together, we have created a professional organization that aspires to advance excellence and promote the value of family medicine through responsive and adaptive communication, advocacy, research, engagement, and continuing professional development.
Request your Pin of Honour free of charge today to signify your place within a strong, engaged, and collaborative community.
Additionally, if you haven’t done so already, please sign up for ACFP Perks—an exclusive members-only program offering more than 5,000 discounts and savings across 700 brands.
Last but certainly not least, if you have any of our highly sought-after Family Docs Rock! swag (e.g., t-shirt, toque, hat, or socks), please wear them proudly on May 19th. We see you and are grateful for all that you do.
By honouring our collective achievements and listening closely to each other, we can continue to advocate effectively for family medicine, refine our programs, and strengthen our professional community.
Thank you for all the incredible work you do for your patients, your peers, and the specialty. I hope you will join us in celebrating World Family Doctor Day and take a few moments to share your thoughts through the survey.
If you need to connect about anything that needs timely attention, please do not hesitate to email me at acfppres@acfp.ca.
Sincerely,
Melanie Hnatiuk, MD, CCFP, FCFP
ACFP President
