Member Spotlight: Dr. Shirley Samuel-Haynes

We would like to take this moment to welcome the most recent addition to the Member Engagement and Recognition Committee (MERC) – Dr. Shirley Samuel-Haynes.

Since completing her MD Program at the University of Alberta in 2002, Dr. Samuel-Haynes has worked as a family physician at multiple sites in Edmonton with an interest in the care of the elderly.

As a member of the MERC, she supports the development of operational tactics in the areas of communications; member engagement; public, partner, and government relations; and the provision of member services.

Dr. Samuel-Haynes finds the ACFP’s work in advocacy and community to be one of its most valuable offerings. One of the reasons she’s decided to volunteer on the MERC is to “ensure the ACFP meets the needs of its members and recognizes excellence amongst its members.”
