Member Spotlight: Dr. Caitlin Finley

This month, we are featuring the newest member of the Research Committee – Dr. Caitlin Finley. She is a family physician at the Northeast Community Health Centre in Edmonton, AB, and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Alberta, where she works with the Patient Experience Evidence Research (PEER) team.

For more than 10 years, Dr. Finley has been an active contributor to the ACFP community. She first joined the ACFP and PEER team in 2015 as a Knowledge Translation Coordinator for the Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) program at the University of Alberta while completing her Master’s in Epidemiology. She later pursued Family Medicine and, in 2018, served as a medical student representative on the ACFP Board of Directors, followed by her role as a family medicine resident representative.

Today, Dr. Finley continues to shape family medicine as a member of the ACFP Research CommitteeShe hopes to contribute to the research component specifically by supporting the research presentations at the Family Medicine Summit. Her goal is to help increase the number of presentations, boost attendance and reach, and ensure that the ACFP is promoting high-quality primary care research being done in our province.

Dr. Finley has also authored numerous Tools for Practice articles and supported the PEER team in developing their primary care guideline on Opioid Use Disorder.

The ACFP is proud to celebrate Dr. Finley’s achievements and is excited to share that she will be presenting an update on Blood Pressure Guidelines at the 2026 Family Medicine Summit (Summit).
