Member Moment: Dr. Diana Hong

We are in awe of our members who inspire us with their time, energy, and dedication for the organization. This month, we are featuring Dr. Diana Hong, Member-at-Large of the ACFP’s Governance Advisory Committee (GAC)

Dr. Hong is a community family physician in Edmonton, where she has the privilege of providing comprehensive primary care to patients and families. She completed her Doctorate of Medicine (MD) and Family Medicine residency at the University of Calgary.

As part of the Governance Advisory Committee, she provides support and guidance to the Board in fulfilling its legal, ethical, and functional responsibilities for the organization. These responsibilities include management of the ACFP Bylaws; management of governance policies; and recruitment and screening of nominations for potential Board and/or members, to name a few.

“Strong governance practices support the ACFP to uphold its strategic pillars and values, and ensures accountability and transparency to members and stakeholders,” notes Dr. Hong. “I look forward to working with the committee to support the Board in this important area and learning more about the ACFP from a strategic level,” she adds.
