Set up your phone with the Family Medicine Summit event app.

Connect, learn, and celebrate with your colleagues in person and virtually.

Over the past years, we have learned a lot about hosting virtual events and enhanced our event platform with session chat, integrated polling, and gamification. And for people on site and in person you can share the same experiences via the event app.

Step 1: Get the app

1. Go to the right store. Access the App Store on iOS devices and the Play Store on Android.*

2. Install the app. Search for Cvent Events.

Once you’ve found the app, tap either Get or Install.

Step 2: Find the Summit Event App

1. Search the app. Once downloaded, open the Cvent Events app and enter “ACFP” or “Family Medicine Summit” in the search bar.

2. Access your event. Tap the name of your event, then tap Download to open it.

With the Summit Event App, attendees can ask questions to speakers within their session, complete session polls, participate in session chats, download session handouts, and complete session evaluations.

Access the Summit Virtually From Your Laptop

Don’t want to use the event app? That is okay as you can access the full event virtually on the Summit Attendee Hub. Simply log onto the event platform, go to your desired session. Click on the join button to watch your presentation virtually. With the Attendee Hub, attendees can ask questions to speakers within their session, complete session polls, participate in session chats, download session handouts, and complete session evaluations. After the conference, check back on the Attendee Hub for the on-demand session recordings. Video recordings will be available until June 30th.

Watch the Getting Started video for the Attendee Hub website.

Main Stage Livestream Access – All sessions delivered on the main stage will be livestreamed and accessible by one single session from the Attendee Hub. Look for the Featured Main Stage Livestream session on the home page.

Handouts and presentation slides are found on the agenda each respective session title under the Schedule tab.

My name is Smitha Yaltho and I feel privileged to work as a family physician. Why? I believe that being a family physician has been the best job any physician can hope to have. I have personally grown in my own abilities and skill-sets with diverse opportunities in ambulatory practice, acute care and work in Facility Living.  Working in primary care has been exciting and has also afforded me tremendous opportunities for growth while still remaining stimulating in its complexity.  I believe that Family physicians are trusted partners in patient care –  every step of the way.

Why are you volunteering to serve on this committee?
I currently have an interest in Physician Leadership and  trauma informed care.  I have served as a director with the Board of Directors with the Edmonton North PCN, Edmonton’s largest PCN. Thereafter, I have worked as the Director of Medical Services with CapitalCare (also based in Edmonton) for almost 6 years. It is my express wish that my contribution on the ACFP board of directors will highlight the excellence of family medicine that exists right here and now within the Alberta health care system.

What about the ACFP’s work do you find most valuable?
Ability to highlight and further support the excellence of primary care right here in Alberta.
