The Government of Alberta has declared May 19, 2026 as “World Family Doctor Day in Alberta.”
The Declaration was issued in response to the ACFP’s request for the recognition of World Family Doctor Day in the province.
In a letter addressed to the ACFP, Adriana LaGrange, the Minister of Primary and Preventative Health Services, noted this about the declaration: “I commend the Alberta College of Family Physicians for its dedicated efforts to represent and advocate for family physicians. It is my hope that increased awareness about the role of family physicians in delivering personal, comprehensive, and continuous care will promote the importance of the profession in our province.”
