The ACFP Annual Meeting of Members was held virtually on Tuesday, March 15th, 2022. Forty-five members attended the AMM and felt the meeting was valuable and informative. Members reviewed and voted electronically on the annual audit, the appointment of the auditor, and the 2022 Board Slate.
The 2022 budget plan was also presented for the membership’s information, and the Board announced fees will not be increased for the July 2022 – June 2023 membership cycle.
The Newest Member of the ACFP Board of Directors
The membership approved Dr. Melanie Hnatiuk, a family physician practicing in Calgary as a Member-at-Large on the ACFP Board of Directors. Dr. Hnatiuk looks forward to collaborating with the ACFP to advocate for Family Medicine and ensure this discipline remains adaptive to the needs of the communities we work within.
The membership approved Dr. Noel DaCunha, a family physician practicing in Westlock as the President-Elect on the ACFP Board of Directors. Dr. DaCunha is looking forward to supporting family physicians and improving the lives of all Albertans by providing strong leadership and advocacy.

Dr. Brady Bouchard expressed kinship and appreciation to the ACFP. Alberta Chapter is a valued partner and thanked for the support, collaboration, and work to advocate for members on Alberta issues. Thanked the elective leadership and the ACFP staff for all the efforts in serving the members of the public.
Dr. Francine Lemire thanked the ACFP for all adjustments made during the pandemic to best meet the needs of Albertans and for the advocacy efforts and collaborations with others including CFPC. This is the last AMM as she will be ending her 10 years at the CFPC at the end of June 2022. Thank you all for your support and collaboration over the past years.
