This March, the Alberta College of Family Physicians (ACFP) proudly hosted its Research Showcase at the annual Family Medicine Summit (Summit) conference, providing a platform for Alberta-based family medicine researchers to share their innovative work. A key highlight of the event was the 2025 Reviewer’s Choice Research Awards, recognizing the top three oral presentations and poster displays for their excellence in research.
This year, the call for abstracts saw an increase in submissions, with 54 abstracts received. Each submission underwent a rigorous peer-review process, ensuring quality, relevance, and impact.
With the support of the ACFP’s newly formed Research Committee, submissions were carefully shortlisted, resulting in:
- 6 oral presentations delivered on Friday afternoon of Summit
- 24 in-person poster displays showcased during the Welcome Reception
From these, six projects in each category were selected for adjudication. In early February, external adjudicators evaluated these presentations, and the top three from each category were recognized for their outstanding contributions.
Congratulations to all participants and thank you for advancing family medicine research in Alberta!
